Malagueta is a clothing, accessory, and home goods line based on the sustainable use of materials while incorporating improvised surface manipulation techniques such as applique, couching, shirring, top-stitching, ruching, piecing, embroidery, and pin-tucking. Each surface is designed specifically to the shape and size of the silhouette, similar to how nature displays its patterns on all living things. If and when there is leftover yardage, those fabric fragments are then incorporated into the garment itself via applique technique or pieced together to create a completely new fabric surface to be used as a garment or home accessory.
