Gina Pannorfi

My work is large scale, hand-felted, silk, and merino wool. I use color, texture, and pattern to create a painting from unconventional materials. The painting is designed, manipulated, and transformed into a decorative and functional object through wet felting. I begin by hand-dying and hand-painting silk. I then hand-cut the silk into an original composition and layer it with fine merino wool. The result is a textile that is luxurious and one of a kind.
