About Jowita Allen
My work focuses on non-biodegradable waste as my main base material. I use PET plastic from discarded bottles and containers, which combined with precious and non-precious metals transform into playful wearable and sustainable sculptures. My work expresses the individuality, unique voice, and point of view of modern society and provides the opportunity to reconsider the influence that the abundance of single-use plastics creates for ourselves and our environment. Working with recycled plastic, one of the most harmful materials impacting our environment, represents my hope for the indestructibility of the nature.
