Cinzia Li Volsi

Nature is my inspiration, and my recent research focuses on environmental risks and sustainability.  The lack of preciousness or rarity of the materials I use is counterbalanced by the time taken to transform them. I create my sculptures by assembling heterogeneous materials using traditional thread processing techniques (weaving, filet, gauze, crochet, tricot) in new ways. The form of my works responds to needs of order, structure and regularity which often find support in the modularity of the whole.
