Marc Carmen

Carmen explores the themes of wholeness and symmetry in his glass work, while employing a clean, modern aesthetic. Each piece begins as molten glass, colored and shaped using Venetian glass blowing techniques. After cooling, the works are then further refined through a series of cutting, grinding, and polishing processes. Carmen works without the help of an assistant, an anomaly in the art of glassblowing. After a career in construction, Carmen utilized his engineering experience to design and build custom furnaces and studio equipment to suit his unique style of solo glassmaking.
