About Amy Gillespie
Felt is intriguing. The super-saturated color coupled with texture draws people in like no other medium. As a process junkie, I lose myself in the making. I spend countless hours dyeing and wet felting my materials. With a palette knife, I apply acrylic medium tinted with a bit of paint to stiffen the edges. This not only helps with delineation, but also protects the piece allowing me to show my work without the need for glass barriers. I do all woodworking associated with the housing for my creations.
