Jorgelina Lopez and Marco Duenas November 2024
Artist Talk
The work of Jorgelina Lopez, a textile designer, and Marco Duenas, an interdisciplinary artist, focuses on handcrafted luminaries and home decor objects intersecting fine craft with innovative ideas. Influenced by Mid-Century design, geometric forms and clean lines are reflected in the objects they craft. Their collections are inspired by the process of working with traditional craft techniques and exploring their relationship with contemporary design. They aim to create timeless, innovative, and finely handmade pieces finding the beautiful balance between craft, art, and design. The name of their studio, La Loupe -French for magnifying glass- represents the process of exploration and discovery, and a symbol of observation and visual attention that they bring to their designs.
