Good design to me means not only a harmonious balance between form and function, but also the degree to which both the design and the object itself stand the test of time. Exquisite craftsmanship should be expended only on the finest materials obtained in ethical, responsible ways. I produce a relatively tight line of timeless pieces, bringing freshness by continually seeking new, often-unexpected ways to interpret and incorporate color and shape through a minimal-waste mindset. The most recent example is my Miele Cross-body/Clutch, which utilizes off-cuts from larger designs to create a repeating pattern of hexagons that is then incorporated into a larger piece.
