Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show
Partners with Susquehanna Bank

November 9, 2009
PHILADELPHIA, PA — The 33rd annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show is pleased to announce an exclusive sponsorship by Susquehanna Bank for this year's show taking place November 12-15 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Craft Show Chair Amy Fox commented, "Both organizations are focused on enriching the quality of people's lives, making this a natural alliance. Susquehanna Bank helps customers achieve their financial goals with superior returns, and the Craft Show brings superior talent from all around the country to Philadelphia. Together we are building a finer community."

The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show is arguably the oldest and most prestigious in the country, showcasing 195 American artisans selected by a jury from over 1300 applicants. For the first time in the history of the Craft Show, guest artists from Korea will also be exhibiting and selling their work. Over 25,000 visitors are expected at the four-day event, which is the single largest fundraiser for the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and has over the years supported every aspect of the Museum's operations and programs.

"Susquehanna Bank recognizes the importance of the arts to a community's economic vitality," said Joseph Lizza, President of Susquehanna Bank's Delaware Valley Division. "The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show is the largest arts event in the region, with far reaching impact. We have just opened a new Philadelphia office at 17th and Market, and our involvement with this year's Craft Show underscores our commitment not only to culture, but the whole community."

Founded in 1883, the Women's Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of, if not the oldest organization of women in support of a cultural institution in the country. Over the years, the Women's Committee has raised millions of dollars, and their efforts have influenced every gallery and program in the Museum. Funds are raised through the annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show now going into its 33rd year (in conjunction with The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show Committee); Small Indulgences, a boutique show held annually; and gala openings of various exhibitions at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
