Shearling coats and hats, in many sophisticated styles and colors with unique details such as gathering, pleating, and mixing of fabrics.
Pong Gaddi — Buffalo, NY | pgaddi.com
Each piece is hand woven from individually cut or folded natural vegetable-tanned saddle leather strips and hand finished using non-toxic materials and processes. The designs are from basic and classic hand weaving and braiding patterns. I put a lot of effort on the details like the very snug machine stitching which I personally developed for strength and durability; the skiving and edge-dyeing of the individual strips; the proper selection of closures; and the minimalist design.

All of our lambskin and shearling jackets are hand sewn in our studio with the help of one assistant. Our work is all limited edition or one of a kind. Our stitchwork and tailoring are what sets our work apart from others. We make coats to measure, and to our customers color choices. We have been making coats and jackets together for the past 25 years, and take pride in pushing our technical limits at all times, and giving our customers a truly wearable piece of artwork that is timeless.

My training as a painter, and 35 years of experience designing and engineering handbags has contributed to the high degree of finish and attention to detail of each piece. Manipulating the surface of the leather with texture is important to my work. Starting with a basic shape: rectangle, half-moon, oval, circle, the trapunto designs create a vignette that reflects the function of the pocket or the shape of the bag. The strong color contrasts of black, red and white are also classic and timeless.
